Michele Carey, also known as Michele Lee Henson, is the daughter of Stanley Willard Henson, Jr, who was a doctor as well as Thelma Burell Henson. Her birthplace was in Annapolis, Maryland, United States of America and was born on 26 February 1942. She had a prodigious piano playing in her teens and took home the national prize at Chicago Music Festival at just thirteen years old. Her family settled in Fort Collins in Colorado, and she completed her secondary schooling in Fort Collins High School in 1960.
